4. Setting up an IoT Provider#

We will now demonstrate how to connect to an IoT provider. In this case The Things Network (TTN)

First we shall register for an account

Requirements

  1. A LoRaWAN capable device

Register#

Register account, there is a free tier with a Fair Usage Policy which we use here.

Once registered go to the console (usually found by clicking on your user name) and select your region.

TTN Console

Click on Applications

Here you can create and view any TTN applications.

Click on + Create Application to create an application

Enter appropriate values and press create

This will take you to the main application screen, this is where you will interact the most with TTN

We can now add our devices to TTN.
